In accordance with the latest announcement regarding the government measures about coronavirus, the Club notes that “organised team sports will still be able to proceed” therefore we are continuing to train and prepare for the coming season. We will, of course, review this in light of any subsequent changes.
In accordance with the FA update on the 17th July, the Club has reviewed the guidance, and match play can now be included in training. Please see updated Club Guidance for coaches and parents. We encourage all our members to speak to their coaches or a member of the Executive Committee if they have any concerns.
July 5th should have been our presentation day; the day each year where we celebrate the participation and successes of each player and team, and we say thank you to all our volunteers and parents & guardians for the effort they put into making Upton JFC such a fantastic club.
While we haven’t been able to meet as a club this year we have produced a year end review with a report for each team, click here to see a copy: Upton_JFC_End_of_Season_Reports.pdf
Huge thanks to Luke Scott from the U8’s for his time and creative input and to all the coaches and volunteers for the write ups.
The club is making plans to return to training whilst ensuring that all our members stay safe and adhere to FA and government guidelines. Please see attached for the club communication on our “return to play” plans.
In line with government guidance and advice from the FA, all football activities at Upton JFC have been suspended, we will continue to monitor updates and advice from the relevant authorities. We wish all our members, families and friends good health and we hope to be back playing as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
Upton JFC achieved unprecedented success at the Swansway Stadium over the weekend of the 18/19 May 2019. The club was represented in the U9, U11, U12, U13, U15 and U16 age groups. In total the club had teams in 7 of the 12 matches, winning 5 and being runners up in 2.
More importantly the players, supporters and volunteers enjoyed a fantastic weekend of football, representing the club with the right attitude. The club is very proud of all the players and supporters. Many thanks to the Chester & District Junior Football League for putting on such a well organised event.
The U7 and U8 teams took part in the friendly festival
Congratulations to our Open Age Team – Upton Blues – on their 4-0 win over Duddon FC in the District FA C&C Catering Challenge Cup. Support from the club was fantastic with players, parents and coaches cheering on the team.
Goals from Joe Williams (2), Ed Behan and Freddie Bulow sealed the win, with assists from Danny Evans (2), Josh McEwan and Tom Berry.
Man of the Match was Tom Berry.
The Club is forming a Youth Open Age Team for next season, please get in touch if you are interested in playing or coaching.
As all teams move to winter training venues, please note the attached information about footwear suitable for your pitch. As a club we are fortunate to have such fantastic facilities, please ensure you follow these guidelines and note the advice about suitable clothing for training and matches.
Over 500 players came together to celebrate another fantastic season of football. Players (girls and boys) from 5 to 17 were all presented with a trophy in recognition of their contribution to the teams. Too many thank yous to mention everyone, but particular thanks to all the volunteers who make this club a friendly and happy place to play the beautiful game.
